CERT: Trainers and
Coordinators

Information and
Tools for CERT Trainers and Coordinators
CERT Classes can be sponsored by various
agencies and organizations but it is recommended that the class be instructed
by trained professionals such as fire and rescue instructors, paramedics,
EMTs, nurses, EMDs, police, etc. See "Instructor Qualifications" for
more information. Course managers and instructors must take the CERT
Train-the-Trainer Course before offering to participants. Review the other
CERT web pages for additional support on starting and maintaining a CERT
program.

When CERT members successfully complete the
full 20 hour CERT Course they should receive recognition for their
participation; this can be in the form of a completion certificate.
Other items that could be issued to those who choose to volunteer beyond the
training include ID
cards, t-shirts, pins, patches, vests, safety helmets and other personal
protective equipment.
